Trauma Informed
After - School Programming

Designed for youth ages 6 thru 13 years of age, affected by trauma either directly or indirectly.  

Our therapeutic after-school programming promotes safety, trustworthiness, peer support, collaboration & empowerment, voice and choice, for all participants.

It is our aim, that by participating in our after- school program; youth achieve improved school attendance, academic success, improved health, and increase emotional wellness.

At our AMAZING-Afterschool Program-Youth:

• Receive a healthy meal and are transported to and from the program within a 5-mile radius.

​

• Are centered , using evidenced based principles of trauma informed care .

​​

• Engage in exciting activities!

​

• Have educational tutors available for Math & English in The Cyber Power Café.

​​

• Practice mindfulness and yoga in the “Zen suite.” 

​​

• Learn & prepare healthy foods in our “healing café” with monthly guest chefs.

​

• Practice positive coping skills, in the “relax and release suite.

​​

• Express themselves creatively in the “recording studio,” or on the “artist spotlight stage.”

​

• Engage in positive peer interaction while in the “gamming suite.” 

​​

• Experience a boost in self- esteem and a new hairstyle at the  “salon reflections suite.”

​

• Learn team building skills and gain individual strengths, in the “Healing Hall.” An interactive game, that utilizes two and three-dimensional video; stage lighting, and tactile experiences, that helps Dorothy,  Lion, and Scarecrow, find who the Wiz, really is!

• Create masterpieces in the “Art Suite,” as they learn healthy self expression.

​​

• Practice how to regulate emotions In the “Speak Easy Suite.​

​​

• Socialize in “The Umbrella Club Suite,” a safe space for LGBTQ youth.

​

• Visit, “The “Wellness Suite,” at a pre-scheduled time with a caregiver for health screenings and routine childhood vaccinations.

​

• Receive T-nation bucks at the   “Bank Station” & use “money” to purchase items at the “T-Nation-healthy Snack Station.”

​

• Learn and grow sensory plants, in “The Healing Garden.” 

   

•  swing under the tree, that has its own grass, to feel grounded in the “Calming Corner.”

• Bring uniforms they need to wash in our  “Healing Loads Laundry Suite.,”

• Relax and read in the “Book Nook,” and daydream, looking out our storybook window.
